The Music of Paraguay. A Talk by Luis Szarán

The Music of Paraguay. A Talk by Luis Szarán

Music plays an important role in the formation of Paraguayan ideology and identity, past and present. We are delighted to welcome Luis Szarán, a prominent musical figure in contemporary Paraguay, who will take us onto a historical journey on the music of Paraguay that ranges from the pre-colonial days to the present time, and encompasses indigenous, folk, classical, religious and popular musical settings.
